A progressive 3-week clinic for newbies who want to learn the fundamentals of Pickleball. Sessions last 2 hours with a maximum of 8 players. Paddles and balls will be provided.
Players will be introduced to the following topics:
Court Layout; the "Kitchen"/No Volley Zone (NVZ); Serve Box; Warm Up Techniques, Movement & Safety; Paddle Grip & Grip Pressure; Serving; Dinking; Keeping Score; Two Bounce Rule; Basic Game Play; Simple Drills
This 3-week Clinic is designed for graduates of the Fundamentals Clinic to continue solidifying their pickleball skills. The goal is to prepare players with the skills and confidence to join Open Play sessions. This Clinic is appropriate for people with prior pickleball or racquet sports experience who want to refresh their knowledge.
For players who understand the basics and are comfortable playing games but want to improve their overall skills. We stress the "3 D's of Pickleball" (Deep serve, Deep return, Dinking) and apply them in match play situations. The instructor will dissect points, critique shots and strategies, and discuss what worked and didn't work. Other topics include groundstrokes, volley/dinking, driving the ball, lobbing (offensive/defensive), third shot options, partner communication and footwork.
For Intermediate players who are looking to improve their technical and tactical skills. Players will be introduced to the “4 S’s of Pickleball”:
· Shot Selection
· Shot Placement
· Speed Up
· Doubles Strategy
One-hour session for new members to learn the basics of the game. Players with pickleball or racquet-sports experience can brush up on their knowledge and gauge their skill level. In addition to improving your skills, a great way to familiarize yourself with the Pickleball Barn, meet an instructor and other players, and improve your game. At the end of the session we will help you determine the best way to continue playing (lessons, clinics, open play, leagues etc).
Mondays 11-12pm
Practice and repetition are the best ways to become a better player. Repetition develops muscle memory so that during play hitting the best shot becomes automatic. Skills & Drills utilizes a ball machine to focus on specific skills: forehands, backhands, cross-court, down the line, dinks, lobs, volleys, the serve etc. The consistent ball machine feed allows you to correct existing bad habits which translates into better shots. Minimum 4 people.
